Things to Do

Miami Beach

Picture of Miami Beach

The weather in Miami should be perfect for a beach day in March, especially for those traveling from frigid climates. If you want to make the short trek to Miami Beach, you can access South Beach between 5th and 23rd streets. There's also Mid Beach between 21st and 45th streets, which is near all of the iconic Miami Beach hotels.

Some of the hotels offer day passes that allow you to access their pools and beaches, along with food and drink services. You can check out hotels with available day passes through Resort Pass with the link below.

Crandon Park is another beach option that is closer to the preferred accommodations. Beloved by locals, it is located on Key Biscayne and tends to be less crowded than Miami Beach. They offer chair and umbrella rentals, as well as kayaks and stand-up paddle boards at the north concession.

Diver's Paradise

Diver's Paradise is located on Key Biscayne and is a great option if you're interested in snorkeling or scuba diving some of the Miami reef tract. They have trips almost daily, which you can book online through their website.

Enjoy some Cuban cuisine

It wouldn't be a trip to Miami without enjoying some Cuban food. There are tons of Cuban restaurants all over the city, but some we recommend are Havana Harry's, Old's Havana, Sergio's, Versailles, and Sanguich de Miami or Enriqueta's for a solid Cuban sandwich.

Some of our favorite things to order: croquetas de jamón, vaca frita, tostones, plátanos maduros, pan con lechon, pastelitos de guayaba, and of course, café Cubano.

Spend the day in Coconut Grove

Picture of Spend the day in Coconut Grove

Coconut Grove is a historic neighborhood full of lush tropical greenery, sidewalk cafes and local shops near Biscayne Bay. It's one of our favorite neighborhoods, which is why we chose the room block there. The Grove (as locals call it) is very walkable, so it's the perfect place to spend the day exploring the area, grabbing lunch and doing some shopping.

Some restaurant recommendations in the area are:

Le Bouchon, Greenstreet Café, El Bagel, Glass & Vine, Sapore di Mare, Lokal, Chug's, Mister 01 and Amal

And for drinks we recommend:

Bellini at Mr. C's, Level 6, Bodega, Barracuda's and Monty's

Explore Wynwood

2516 NW 2nd Ave, Miami, FL 33127
(305) 576-3334

Wynwood is Miami's art district, known for its colorful murals and funky art galleries. The area has undergone a renaissance over the past decade, and it is now one of the city's hippest neighborhoods filled with restaurants, food halls, breweries and shops. While most buildings in the area are covered in murals, we recommend checking out the Wynwood Walls to see some of the best street art.

Some recommendations in Wynwood:

Doya, Pastis, Kyu, Zak the Baker, 1-800-Lucky, Kush, The Salty Donut, Panther Coffee and Coyo Taco

And for drinks:

Wynwood Brewing Company, Cerveceria La Tropical, Veza Sur, J Wakefield Brewing and Spanglish

Shopping

Miami has some great outdoor shopping. Whether you'd like to partake in some retail therapy or just spend the day outside window shopping, we recommend checking out Brickell City Centre, The Miami Design District, Merrick Park or Bal Harbour Shops.

Visit Little Havana

Picture of Visit Little Havana

Little Havana is the heart of Miami's Cuban diaspora. The neighborhood is filled with Latin restaurants, bakeries, cigar shops, rum bars, galleries and music venues.

If you're looking for Cuban food, some restaurants in the area are Versailles, Old's Havana and Sanguich. We also recommend Azucar, a Cuban-inspired ice cream shop - our favorite flavor is Abuela Maria! For a mojito and some live music, visit Ball & Chain or Cafe La Trova.
